THE ARTISTS TOOLKIT

The artists toolkit is a wonderful in-depth guide to learning more about the building blocks of composition- line, colour, texture, space etc.. Here students will see many examples of works of art that illustrate the visual elements and principles. This site uses Flash. Download links available on site.

ARTS WORKSHOP

At art workshop, students have four wonderful choices: Creating their own multimedia production using puppets, music and script and then posting it on the web for all to see. Great fun and it really works; Focus on sculpture - great for the learning about art section of the curriculum - self directed student explorations; Make it At Home (or school). Practical construction activities including a Funky Dinowire, a Blockosaur and Story in a Box and making and playing a variety of musical instruments

MYTHS AND LEGENDS THROUGH ART

Throughout history, artists have been inspired by myths and legends and have given them visual form. Sometimes these works of art are the only surviving record of what particular cultures believed and valued. But even where written records or oral traditions exist, art adds to our understanding of myths and legends.

If you love kids art – you'll just love this site dedicated to the celebration of children's art. Each catergory listed contains wonderful examples of kids art plus descriptions for teachers showing how these wonderful results were obtained. Fantastic site— we love it.

HISTORY OF SOUL MUSIC

Visit the STACKS Museum of American Soul Music for a special Web Adventures designed programme featuring the development of American Soul Music and all the contributing forms of music which has made soul music what it is today. Students can hear clips of funk, blues, gospel, motown, country and blues music from famous artists.

ARTS WORKSHOP IN SCULPTURE

Does Sculpture Have a Purpose? Who Are These Sculptors? What Do Sculptors Create With? What Do Sculptors Do? What Do Sculptures Do? Sculpture has shape. Tons of hands on projects for all ages.

THE SCRIBBLER

A fun site for all ages where students use their mouse to make line drawings. The application (The Scribbler) built into the site then turns the student drawing into a 'visual masterpiece'. Tons of fun for early finishers. Not to be taken too seriously!
